Default Breaking Guard

Anyone else hate this feature and have it turned off?

What is to hate about it? You get too close and it flashes a warning and a beep. No big deal to me.

And slams on the brakes. If the guy behind doesn't have the system he'll be in the trunk. Is there a way to just get the warning, no braking?

I've never had it slam on the brakes on me, just the warning. I had it set to medium aggression. If I recall, setting the brake activation and warning activation are separate.

It shouldn't be slamming on the brakes unless you are actually about to hit something.

Didn't know the sensitivity was adjustable. How?

Well, it's slammed them on more than once when I was not going to hit anything. Last time a guy cut in front of me on the line to the exit ramp, slow moving traffic, and the brakes slammed on. Thought for sure I was about to get hit from behind. Luckily the person behind aware and not tailgating

Apparently I'm delusional from D4 withdrawals. You can turn it on and off, but not adjust sensitivity. And here's a handy video including them repeatedly almost rearending other Audi's as a demonstration. https://s7d9.scene7.com/e2/Audiusast...0p_Desktop.mp4

This doesn't sound like the automatic braking guard to me, but the automatic cruise control. If you are using the automatic cruise control and someone moves into the zone ahead of you, the car applies the brakes to reestablish the distance you are behind the car immediately in front of you.

This feature is adjustable. You use the protrusion on the top of the cruise control to adjust this. When in heavy traffic I often adjust it so the follow distance is at a minimum, this helps.

My preference would be if you could switch to normal cruise control when wanted but you can't.

I do appreciate the feedback but the ACC was off. No doubt it was the braking guard. Really aggressive implementation. Hate to turn off any safety feature but this one is potentially more dangerous than safe as it currently functions.
