No smell if you install it properly. No direct atmosphere outlet. It has to be connected to the intake. It will just help OE oil catcher to remove oil droplets.

How does this affect the original factory warranty?

Well if driving it and having fun (i.e. NOT driving like a grandma) then there is going to be a white S8 that's going to have a TON of carbon build up!Name: scared.gif

I run one on my GT500, i can't imagine how you would get to a place that you would smell anything. you would have to do some pretty creative plumbing work to make that happen.....

installed in about 15 minutes, well actually a little longer as i had to boil some fittings off the OEM hoses to reuse.

VW/Audi have an additive (black 8oz. bottle / $4.50) that I have been using for years on turbo 20V & 4.2Ls ...
So, does it do anything, it certainly seems that it does- its not G17 @$9.00

It is cleaning primarily injectors, than intake manifold too, but it is not FSI engine.

Hey guys. I was trying to find a newer thread focused on carbon build up, so I think I've found it. I have an '05 S4 w/ 115,000 miles. I haven't had any problems at all with the engine since I bought it new in '06, but I've seen people who have gained ~25 hp by cleaning the valves in an '07 RS4. This made me a bit curious, so would it be worth it to have my Audi dealer clean the valves?

Thanks in advance.

If you want that power back it would be worth it.

I don't agree with the conjecture of the original post either. Not something I have heard of much either. Think 3.2 as ground zero for the issue, with smatterings in earlier 2.0Ts.
