Anyone try the non OEM E-Bay wheels at all with any success?

Gotta start thinking about a winter setup. Hate to spend big coin for a set up that will only get used minimally for only 3 months out of the year.

Knapp, I've found decent OE wheels on CL, etc. I'd also look in the Classifieds section on this forum. Lots of stuff for sale and you'd be able to avoid the use of "centering rings".

And there's always our friends (Gary) at Tire Rack. Order from the comfort of your living room and a turn-key pkg shows up on your front steps within a couple of days. All balanced up and ready to roll! They've got loads of stuff beginning at $99 that's more than suitable for winter duty.

Being my car has not shown up yet, can anyone tell me if the 2011 A8 has tpms in in the wheels or does the A8 have the low tire pressure warning thru the computer based on wheel speed?

Avoid them at all cost. I have done it before 2x and never got a true round rim that fits properly. All chinese made rip off rims.

D4's have the latter method--- low tire pressure warning thru the computer based on wheel speed...or some such approach. Definitely not in-wheel sensors like the D3's used.

And this threw me for a complete loop a couple of weeks ago. I spent twenty minutes trying to find out where the PSI was. Such a goofy system Audi is using for this... I've never had a vehicle with TPMS that did not display the actual pressure.
