EBC RedStuff Brake PAD Review
Vehicle: 2011 Audi A8 70K
Work Performed:
Replaced Front Rotors and Pads
Part Numbers :
Front Rotors : OEM # 4H0615301AB
Front Brake Pads : EBC DP32087C Redstuff Ceramic Front Brake Pads
Tools Required:
Breaker Bar
9mm Allen ( Needed to remove Guide Pins )
Initial Assessment:
Replacing the Front Rotors and Pads is a straight forward procedure, doesn't require any special tool.
Wont go into detail about replacement. pretty straight forward, without any major hiccups.
My reason for the review is to give my initial impression of the EBC Redstuff Brake Pads. I've
only clocked about 200 mile on new Pads. The thing that surprises me the most, is the amount of
BRAKE DUST from pads. I would classify them as ABOVE amount from OEM Pads and far more than Dust from
Akebono Pads used prior to EBC's. As far as INITIAL performance of pads, I would rate stopping power SLIGHTLY
ABOVE the Akebono.

EBC's have a break in compound that essentially sands/conditions the rotor to minimize possible squeal, especially if you go from one ceramic brand/type to another. Not really relevant w/ a rotor change except that you still need to wear it through. Try cleaning/wiping off the wheels and then running another 200 or more miles. I expect you won't see as much after those first break in miles you logged so far.
