First Aufi: 2011 A8 (4.2 V8)
Hello all,
I am the proud owner of a 08' Infiniti G37S coupe which is getting on in age (105k miles). The car has been nothing but reliable and fun but given last the winter last year in the Northeast, I need something more robust when there is a little snow on the ground.
I'm looking at a CPO 2011 Audi A8 (4.2 V8) with 36k miles. The dealer is asking $40k. I will pay additional for an extended warranty.
Overall I've heard good things about the 11' 4.2 A8. Anything I should look out for or inquire about? On my two test drives the car has been great. I noticed a little lag off the line the second time I test drove it, but that may have been the normal vs dynamic setting.
Thanks in advance!

Sorry about the misspelling in the title....

One more question: does the D4 still have the problem with the chain tensioners?
Thanks in advance!

As long as it's CPO, personally I consider the extended warranty a waste of money. Things to look out for, the sway bar links go out quickly (noise over speed bumps.) Beyond that, normal checking for fluid leaks of any kind. The 8 speed auto has a tendency to hesitate from a rolling stop, myself and others have long complained about it and the corresponding roughness at low speed. Check for uneven tire wear, as well.

I think 'CPO' is the wrong title. The certification is from the dealership (NOT Audi Certified), and includes only the inspection, 5 day no-questions-asked return policy and a 30 day no-questions-asked exchange, and 3750 mile warranty -- hence my wanting the extended warranty.

Ah, I tried to make claims on the sway bar links and the blind spot detector faults, but my claim was denied both times as not being covered, despite having platinum coverage. After that I decided it wasn't worth the expense to keep it.
