Couldn't have said it better! Have even taken the "S8" badge off of mine and I can't tell you how many times I hear "I love your A6!"
'Thanks!" is all I need to say.
No one needs to know there are 520 horses in there (or more importantly, look up the MSRP). I still get a big grin every time I step on the pedal.

If I ever get an S8, it will be debadged as well.

Sometimes it is better to let people assume that the car you are driving is 'normal' for numerous reasons, more specifically cost. Before I wanted people to know the car model I was driving, but less so now. At times there is no benefit for people you work around or have meetings with know that you are getting into a 6 figure car. I still go back and forth on this.
Of course if they know cars then it doesn't really work.
