A couple of years go I got tired of paying the ridiculous prices dealerships charge for map upgrades in their nav systems so I purchased a Garmin with lifetime updates (for about what one update on one vehicle would have cost). I also purchased the attachment that you plug into your OBD port so my Garmin will read codes. It also provides the ability to monitor some engine parameters real time as you are driving down the road.

Yesterday I finally got around to moving the dongle from the Lexus to the S8. I made a 200 mile trip today and was happy to see that I can now, using the Garmin, monitor manifold pressure, thus turbo boost, while driving down the road. The one piece of instrumentation I had been missing on the S8.
