I have done this numerous times. FL is a big state so I can usually land at invoice on almost any car if I cant get the same offer in south FL. Ofcourse factor in plane fare and gas driving back but generally, you can find it somewhere even in a neigboring state. Dealers wil pick you up too. My lexus I got for invoice at a delership 1 hour away from the Tampa airport. I was actually a litle frightened at first - like, damn who is this guy and where is he taking me?

I even flew to texas many many years ago to pick up a great deal on a car in stock that had my exact desired options. It was $500 over invoive, plus, there was a $1k incentive from the manufacturer. Well worth the trip

Default Nationwide 2012 A8L Inventory

Good advice on checking inventories nationwide. How does one go about doing that though?

Any websites that tell you that, or put your info on edmunds dealer network and let them send you

their best quotes.

I had a similar dilemma when buying my 2011 in Dec of 2011. Fortunately, there wasn't a whole lot of difference between 2011 and 2012 (I think just Audi connect), so I decided on 2011 at a substantial discount over a similar 2012. But with the new engine in the 2013, I think I would opt for the new model.

That excites me and makes me nervous all at the same time.
Some tech is great to be an early adopter on, but this engine is new to the US correct ?
That said I trust Audi far more than other manufacturers.

Gears turning - we have an office in FL, so I could write the whole trip off if one turned up there...

You are likely to see very attractive discounts on '12 D4's. Like dealer and factory ones totaling $15k+. Yes, the 4.0 will likely hold value better a few years out, but the significant additional cost is definitely a consideration.

Its actually not new. Its the same engine that goes in the S4 since 2010. I have it in my 2011 S4. The 3.0 V6 SC also seems to be AUDI's Goto engine as they are putting it in a few of their U.S. cars.

You may be thinking of the V6 TDI, which will be newly introduced into the U.S. later this year, probably end of summer from what i hear. But the TDI has been in Europe for quite awhile I believe. The only technology that may be new is the A8 4.0 turbo model, the 3rd engine option for the A8 in the U.S.

Can you give the name of dealer that will give a combined discount off of MSRP of $15,000 as I am about to pull the trigger and would have purchased a 2013 3.0. However, i am sure that I could not get anything remotely close to that discount on a 2013 AL8 3.0.

Thanks,

Steve
