oh my lord, this dash is amazing! think it's the same as the Q7 now. I can't go into all it does but one of the things is puts a HUGE Nav screen up where the speedo is, so clear! Gotta say, Audi hit this out of the park. Too small for me but what a neat little car.

Yep. On Q7 it is an upgrade level option, so presumably the same on equipment level of new A4. Went to look for it on a Q7 on showroom floor when I picked up CPO S8 in March, but their floor model was a midline w/ conventional dash. Should see next intro w/ it w/ second gen Q5 announce now scheduled--presumably following A4/A5 platform--and then w/ D5 announce yet to come.
Probably std. for D5 given target market. Hopefully both some drivetrain and body (design) enhancements to go w/ it. Technically the drivetrain ones are curious to me w/ D body often being flagship, and the other two areas always good stuff but also pretty predictable roadmap wise. CarPlay + Android equivalent are another obvious on MMI side (and is probably in your A4 loaner). But they are supposed to be doing a full rethink/new gen on MMI w/ D5. Their autonomous play is up w/ D5 as well. On drivetrain side are things like what comes of gas motors with nominal merger of V8's w/ Porsche, where they go w/ quattro mechanicals vs. electrics and electronics, etc. (serious) plug in hybrid, They have some strong stuff mechanically already in D4, but weight needs attention and fuel economy expectations are cranking up at same time the market still wants lots o power. They are intro'ing quattro ultra with smaller longitudinal motors (think four bangers) like expected on new Q5, but many folks are skeptical that is more like fancy Haldex...aka pretender.

I totally agree! I dropped off my 2016 A7 for servicing and got the new A4 2.0 and I love the new tech in the car. I wish I could get the android auto in my A7... Maybe retrofit it.

it is really cool. can't figure out how to turn on the driver's assistance package though. it doesn't have the button on the turn signal stalk like ours does.

Then it's not equipped with it. It does have Pre Sense City though (automatic emergency braking) between 6 and 52 MPH.
