Default Help please oil stick placement S8 V8 TFIS (?)

My boss runs a Audi S8 with a V8 TFIS (?) engine.
The electronics says it has too much oil, so I'm trying to figure out where the dipstick is placed.
Been staring into that engine room for 10 minutes and can't for the life of me see a dipstick.
The manual wasn't any help as it showed a V12 engine and not the V8.

Please help me not look too stupid...

Thanks

If its similar to the 4.2 FSI there is no dipstick but the tube is there and just to the right from the filler cap.

This is the engine I speak of.

With oil cap removed.

The tube will most likely be on the side of the engine block, not adjacent to the filler cap.

So we might be talking about this bit. It's the black thing in about the middle of the picture with white paint just below a black thing?
So I take it, that's the tube, you pull that black thing out, stick a dipstick into it, but you would have to get that from a dealer or so? Correct?

Thanks for your help.

I dont see it well enough to say if thats it or not but if you can remove that cap and there is a tube, it is likely your dipstick tube.

Don't know if you can get a dipstick at the dealer but why do you need a it?

You can read the oil level on the mmi and if there is too much oil just remove some until the level is correct.

Default Tell your boss to take his car to the dealer for service...

There is no dipstick. Under no circumstances should you consider yourself "stupid." Does your boss seriously expect you to service his car?

How old is the car? I purchased a new S8 two months ago and for the first 200 miles it showed too much oil. The problem solved itself. If it is a new car I wouldn't worry about it. The alarm resets every time you restart the car.

There is no dipstick. You have to rely on the MMI telling you it's low/high.

If you really want to take same oil out, hunt for the drain plug under the car.
