A-Hole Hits My Parked 3 Week Old 2015 S8
#51
Update.
Geico has decided to stay out of court, for now.
Apparently all the big wig managers were at some meetings last week. The jackhole I was dealing with was just a knucklehead.
Geico is fixing my car less my deductible, as per our contract.
Still another 3-4 weeks until it's done. I've officially NOT had the car longer than I have had it. And according to edmunds, I'm losing $100/day in depreciation!
I know, cry me a river.

That's great news. I meant to post this link to another D4 member's collision experience earlier for you to gauge your situation and get some insights. In his case, his D4 with 8K miles was T-boned with significantly more damage than your car sustained; he fought (and won) to get the car declared a total loss. There was a lot of information from others with various levels of body damage---all of which generally support your car's repair estimate, IIRC.

Good luck on the repairs.

It really is an education to see what's under the skin of these cars. Doesn't look too bad under there, just a finesse job of lining up the new fender panel and getting a good weld. Brand new white paint shouldn't be tough to color match. It should be fine.

CarFax has multiple ways of securing accident information: police reports, Insurance company report, and repair shops. The only way that I know to be certain that the damage is not reported to CarFax is to not contact the police and pay for the repairs out of pocket, which obviously is not an option in this instance.
I had a brand new Lexus stolen, and then involved in a high speed police chase through midtown Atlanta before the suspect crashed into a parking garage and fled on foot. Police recovered and impounded the vehicle, and I had about $15,000 in damage repaired at a body shop. Filed insurance with State Farm for the repairs.
When I sold that car 4 years later, I ran a Carfax report for giggles. NOTHING on the report. No wreck. No evidence of being stolen and police chasing it, or crashing into that garage.
Carfax is worthless if it doesn't pick up that.

This story is exactly why I have video cameras installed in my S6. Front and rear. They are recording all the time, even when parked.
Back in September they captured a burglar entering my garage and stealing iPods from my car.
I will never own a car without dash cameras ever again.

Ok, apparently, NOW, my car is done.
The body shop has been telling me so many days that it would be done, I stopped making arrangements to get there.
I anticipate being able to get it tomorrow.
Final total was $17,075.
