I don't know if there is a way to add a poll onto a thread like on other forums but I have a simple question to fellow D4 A8/S8 owners.

How often, on average, does your car go to the dealer for service (routine visits plus other)?

1-3 times per year?

4-6 times per year?

7 times or more?

On average, my recent overall D4 experience has been about 2 visits per year: oil change/filter plus tire rotation twice per year (every 5k miles or 6-months). The occasional wheel/radar camera alignment could bring the total to 3 service visits.

My experience has been the same as derf's - 1-3 visits per year.

I must be an extreme outlier here.

Despite having my A8L for less than one year I'm on track for having in excess of 15 visits/year.

Admittedly the first few were for what I now realize as being inherent design flaws among all D4 A8s. Namely the steering wheel easy entry memory forgetfulness and the suspension sqeak.

Only one has been for scheduled maintenance.

The rest have been for mechanical/electrical issues such as MMI display malfunction and check engine lights.

My 2013 A8L 4.0T has been in twice since delivery in May of 2013 for the 5k service and last month for the 15k service. Both routine, scheduled maintenance. Otherwise, there has been zero issues other than having to have a tire/wheel replaced from a pothole blowout totally separate from Audi (New Jersey roads). No squeaks, rattles, suspension sounds, downshift or throttle issues. Maybe I just got lucky but having come over from Lexus LS, could not be happier and planning on another Audi when this one is taken out of service.
