Default Loaner allroad nearly killed me...

No due to bad driving or design flaw, but that low roof and pesky B-pillar. Got in on Wednesday and almost broke my neck hitting my head getting in. Woke up yesterday to horrendous wrenching on my neck muscles in back. Today it is marginally better. Skipped the naproxen and went straight to the hydrocodone. Could not sleep at all last night. Barely keeping it together today...

Be warned all you taller guys... The allroad is a little bitch!

Yikes! Good thing it's a long weekend so you can get some rest.
Wine is an excellent muscle relaxer in my experience

I'm average height and gave myself a concussion getting in a friends Camaro this summer.
When I rode in his Porsche later he was kind enough to put the roof down first...

Good you could blame the car, and not you own negligence...

It was actually worse than what I originally wrote and not related to the Allroad at all.

I contracted a rare form of blood sepsis in the form of a blood-based staph infection.

On November 30th, I went to the ER and was given a 30% survival probability. I don't remember much of those days but my wife does have notes I wrote for her, and most are unintelligible gobbledygook.

I remember standing up at around 2pm in the afternoon and nearly falling flat on my face.

Ten days later, I just spent the first night back at home. I have a picc line and a portable IV which delivers antibiotics 24/7. My blood is clean now but they still don't know WHERE the infection came from.

Yegads, what a nightmare.
Glad to hear you are progressing in the recovery.

I developed a staph infection, which presented like the flu, about 5 years ago.
It almost killed me as it spread and the doctors were scared to death it would go bloodborne.

Stay well !

ps- When I was delirious I ordered the dog a bunch of jewelry from one of those junky catalog places
Was fun explaining to them why I didn't want to be on their mailing list anymore

My goodness needles! Happy to hear you're home and on the mend.
For some levity: A8 drivers should never be downgraded into lesser vehicles...it's apparently just plain hazardous to our health! 😉

The Audi dealer here only loans A8 owners another A8.

It is frankly a bad idea to do otherwise, as it can lead to a poor impression of the brand. Case in point, my Mom had to leave her A8 at a dealer for a week because the MMI screen was going haywire. Open/Closing repeatedly on its own. They gave her an A4 for the week and she absolutely hated it. It has actually soured her on the Audi brand, in general.
