I'm not too sure... But there are a lot of functions on the MMI... Maybe leave the key in the car? Kinda dangerous thou.

That defeats the purpose though and i doubt you can lock the car from the outside handle when the key is in,

My d3 i could have the key in my pocket and could touch the button on the door handle and it would lock or unlock it weather it was running or not on the d4 i can only lock/unlock when its not running

I'm hoping someone has solved this as well as I also miss that ability from my D3.

me too! with my BMW I could go to starbucks, leave the car running and lock the doors. With my A8, when I open the door, the car shuts off automatically. I have to restart it if I want to keep the A/C or heat running and can't lock the doors.

I know, I know. It's not like the car doesn't shut itself off all the time anyway. It's probably more habit than anything else. I'll get used to it.

My car doesn't turn off when i open the door or leave it without the key, it stays unlocked and running so unless i want it stolen i would like to look it using tje key or lock button on the handle and make my quick runs, if the d3 had this option why they disabled it in d4

FYI, in many states, it is illegal to leave a car running when left unattended.
