I am new to the Audi family. I really like the a8 in the long wheel base. are there any plans on making an s8 in the same long wheel base.

If you want long wheel base, you have either the W12 or the 4.0t. There hasn't been so much as a whisper in regards to an S8L, nor would I expect it. There are tunes available to the 4.0t that can bump into S8 territory, and the W12 is an admirable performer. I did see one rumor of the D5 including a twin turbo W12, ala Bentley, but nothing solid yet.

MP4.2+6.0

Audi has already shown the next gen W12 motors. They are going back to 6.0L (from 6.3) and are turbo'ed, above the level of the existing Bentley turbo ones. And Bentleys are a good amount heavier than the D4's. Sort of needed too. W12 was an obvious step up to prior 4.2 in D3, but less in D4 even at 4.2 with 8 speedo, and now not with the 4.0T. The sucky mileage doesn't help either. Still a work of art motor, super smooth, instant torque and hardly breaks a sweat.

Agreed no LWB S8 ever. W12 can be found in SWB in Europe and other places on the other hand. Like you say, chip a straight 4.0T and you can get pretty up there. It doesn't have the larger bearings and turbos, twin airboxes and some other things of an S8 motor set up, but amenable to more power. And frankly at 450HP now and an 8 speed ZF, it is already quite fast compared to 98% of what is out there.
