Second issue with the new (3300 miles) A8. When the MMI screen pops up at start up it will often slump back down about at inch. When I hit the button to retract and reopen the screen and it seems to clunk down vs the smooth retraction. Again this doesn't happen all of the time, just very irritating. This could be related to the rattle I've been hearing but not sure. Anyone else run into this issue?

Sounds like something in the gears has broken. Chipped tooth, maybe? It can happen if any debris gets in there during opening and closing. At the very least, I'd expect something to be in there with the mechanism that shouldn't be.

My actuator broke this winter, real cold morning I heard it snap after it came up. Dealer had to replace the actuator mechanism.

I'm not sure the D4 has gears like the D3 did, but I could be wrong. The actuator I believe is of a different design style.
