Ah, different animal entirely. On paper, the F type R is supposed to be the faster car, so in good conditions, he ought to win. It's both lighter and more powerful, with some formidable engineering allowing those two back tires do a mighty good job in putting the power down in a straight line. That car is a lot harder edged than the S8, and sacrifices a lot of day to day livability for it's performance.

When it's that close, whether or not you've got a passenger, which adapts to the local weather better, traction conditions, car setup, and of course the driver are all going to be big factors in who comes out ahead. It' not as clear cut as the numbers make it seem, results in the real world don't always line up with the numbers manufacturers and magazines come out with. They have engineers and professional drivers doing everything humanly possible to squeeze out everything possible out of the car.
