Default New spark plugs and air filter.

I just did the spark plugs and air filters on my 4.2FSI and wanted to let you know that it's about a one hour job and quite easy if you are into that sort of work. It saves time doing the air filters and sparks at the same time as you have to dismantle the air filter housing to get to the plugs. The original spark plugs was VWAG branded NGK.
Procedure, the same for each side:
*Remove lock carrier cover
*Detach longitudinal member (4 bolts)
*Release the hose clip at the air filter housing and remove the pipe from the housing
*Unscrew and remove the top of the air filter housing.
*Remove the 2 bolts on the spark plug connector rail
*Release the 4 connectors and push down the connector rail.
*Detach and remove the ignition coils
*Remove the old spark plugs.
*Insert the new spark plugs.
*Put the ignition coils back in, reconnect the connector rail and fasten it with the 2 screws.
*Clean the air filter housing, change the air filter and put it all back together.

Great car to service on your own if you know how, the oil and oil filter are another 30 minutes or so and including a test drive and cleaning up my "hourly return" on this job was about $600 per hour tax free.

Yep, not much more difficult than it is on any other car. Easier than my old Chevy, in fact.

I'm getting ready to do this myself in the next couple of weeks, You don't happen to know what the plug number is on those NGK's do you?

Here are the NGK's from Audi's part site.

Edit: NGK lists it as part #PFR6W-TG

I could not source NGK without going to the Audi dealer so I decided to try Denso Iridium Tough VKB20, figured I change again if they messed with the character of the car.
Not sure it was the sparks or the air filters that contributed the most but the car was super responsive when I took for an extended and quite aggressive testdrive yesterday, I was very pleased so the Denso's stays.

You can get the NGK's elsewhere, but I have not found them cheaper than $12 each with the link I provided.
