Default No Heat

I have been meaning to post this up in case anyone has a similar problem. It happened to me a couple of months ago.
My symptoms were intermittent heat or it taking a long time to arrive. Sometimes I'd be waiting 14-30 minutes with no heat at all. After I got the coolant crossover pipe seals / coolant flange seals that were leaking replaced and the heater core shutoff valve that was sticking replaced, it now only takes about six minutes for heat.

Just saw this. (I just made a thread post regarding same issue). I have a 2011, heat is terrible. To the point where I hate getting in the car. Were you still under warranty? Covered? Did you eventually get some heat to flow? I can eventually get heat to flow, but never using the AUTO function and generally with a very low flow from the center vents. Sound similar?

When I switch out of the auto mode into the manual mode and select the upper and lower air vents, the car heats up so fast that its fantastic. I never use auto function in any of my Audis because of this.

I was not covered under warranty. Sometimes after driving for a very long time some heat would come on. The auto setting didn't seem to make a difference for me.

Default Heat issue with A8 - RESOLVED (I hope)

With many AW forum assistance, I brought my A8 in for repairs. Actually met with the mechanic. He knew right away that I had a "N82 Heater Core Shut Off Solenoid Valve Stuck Closed". he replaced it. Of course, supposed to be 75deg today. Tomorrow, cold again. Will verify heat, but he told me valve was broken, so... fingers crossed.
