I'm in D.C. area, and I see a fair number of A8's around here. Not as many as S-classes or 7-series, but more than XJ's.

I'm in the Pacific NW, Seattle area.

Lots and lots of Audis around here. Probably the most common of the German marques.
Mainly Q5, A4, Allroad, A5, with a decent number of S5s around as well.
Much fewer A6/7.

I see another A8 maybe once every 2 weeks or so.

I've always leaned toward the larger flagships of autos. I did almost purchase a A7. Very sharp looking exterior. After test driving brand new A7's, I decided I wouldn't like the used A7's better than the A8's. So back in the showroom to droll over the A8 again as usual over the last couple years. Within 2 hours I found. a A8L with all options I wanted, online, sent a refundable pay pal deposit to hold till I got back in town. It was a done deal , especially after I saw in person and drove. It was on the highway with me the next day for a 4 hour trip.
You see a lot more smaller Audi , BMW, and Lexus. They also depreciate slower too.

I am in Northern VA. Lots of Audi's here, mostly A4 and Q5. This area is pretty affluent (These 2 counties have the highest per capita income in USA), so most cars are relatively new and proportionally luxury brands. As for flagships, I see more 7 series than MB. Most MB are not the newest model. As for A8s, It is about 2 weeks cycle or so before I see another D3 or D4.

I also get to see a lot of new Audi's that float around Audi's HQ that is just around the corner from my office. Before the latest refresh was released, I saw several riding around. About 2 weeks ago, I saw a interesting S6 that appeared to have some kind new option set coming out of the Audi HQ drive. I often eat lunch in the center next to the place.

Just an update, I was curious how many will I see since this post was originally posted here. I still haven't see any A8 or S8 yet. Quite a bit of Q5, handful of Q7, I thought if I pay attention it'll be a lot more, but it's the opposite (as far as A8/S8 goes).

I spend most time in a community of around 40k. Not necessarily affluent, but there some higher end cars. I've seen (1) A8L D4 in the area. Other than mine. That's it! Several A4''s and one S6 I've seen. I don't miss any on the road.
Lots of MB, Lexus, BMW and s few jag's.

Here in OKC, we have one dealer - one in Tulsa 90 miles away as well. I see a ton of Q5s and Q7s and a ton of A-4/A-5s as well. A good number of A-6/A7s around too. Quite a few D4 A8s in town - I see one about every other day or so.

When I bought my first Audi in 1998, I had about the only one on the road in this town. I always tell my wife I had Audis before Audis were cool.
