Quattro vs 4Matic
So can we just talk about how much better the Quattro system is....
Last night we had our first ice rain/rain/snow storm in Detroit and let me just tell you I will never go back to 4matic Ever

I can't say I've ever driven the 4matic, but I can vouch that the Audi has always tracked very well in every weather. Driving through ice, it got me where I was going without wiggling around even the tiniest bit. Terrifically stable.

I am from Bloomfield hills, Michigan and I agree that Quattro is better then 4matic and both are far better then x-drive in the snow with winter or all season tires. Quattro > 4Matic >> Xdrive.

We have a 320 4matic and a x5 drive both diesels and honestly they can't even compare to the Quattro

Yes, last night the roads were icy and slushy I literally had not one problem going through anything

Quattro has been around and mastered long before X drive and 4matic. I've driven them all and they all work, but none better than Audi. I'm also in Michigan, and I was happy to get on the expressway during the ice storm.

Having owned Audi's with Quattro, Mercedes with 4matic, and BMW's with x-drive, I must say that Quattro outshines all of them, with all-season tires, put winter tires on and they are great driving in blizzards and in deep snow banks. IMHO - Quattro > 4matic > xDrive.
Only other all wheel vehicles that can compare to Quattro are Subarus

Would you guys use it in manual or just in auto here in the UK we've just had wet storms after storm mainly the tail ends of what you guys have had, not even had ice on the windscreen yet.
Will manual let you hold it in 2nd to pull away, because I am an Audi virgin 5 months from new, I not used this car in snow or ice yet it's a genuine question, do I just let the auto and quattro system do the work.
