Replace Night Vision Assist Camera?
#21
I went to audi and they said that either the cable or the new camera does not work..their diagnostic software says that there is problem in the communication.
I think it's the cable..but in A6 it is a night mare to replace such a long cable going from the front all the way to the under floor

Get as much money as u can and spend it on something worthwhile.
I never use the night vision. I have a 2011 so it only highlights people. If it would highlight deer on the side of the road with a warning then I would consider using it. Currently I just find it distracting.
I believe the never cars have a program to also highlight and warn you for animals. Would be nice if there was some sort of software upgrade that would give older models that capability.

Yes... that is the fist year it states "and larger animals" in the brochure.
The prior years 2012-2014 state:
With an infrared camera detecting what lies ahead, this available feature uses thermal-imaging technology to help you avoid trouble. Pedestrians can be
detected over 300 feet in front of the vehicle, while objects can be detected
over 900 feet ahead—all shown on the 7" color driver information system.
Did somebody say that "animals" still show up on the display? But a warning doesn't go off like on the 2015+ models?

Hi.
Does anybody by chance know if this animal detection feature can be enabled through softcoding for pre 2014 models with NV? Or is it a difference on the hardware between pre facelift and facelift models?
If so, im guessing it is only the controle module + some VCDS coding that needs to be done in order for it to work.
