I just bought a 2012 A8 from a dealer, and the Ruby Polar inside lighting profile doesn't work. The dealer says that it doesn't work on other A8s, so it's not a working feature, even though it's in the owner's manual and is selectable on the MMI. I find this hard to believe. Are their other 2012 A8 owners who's Ruby Polar does work, or does it not work on all 2012 A8s?

Well, I have a 2011, and that color profile works just fine. The ruby is most noticeable on the doors, otherwise it seems very similar to the polar profile. I flip between them from time to time for variety.

I have tried the ruby vs. polar lighting and I can barely tell the difference. It would have been nice if the ruby was more noticeable.

I have a 2012 A8L and my ruby-polar interior works fine. Like Jack said, the ruby lighting is really only on the doors. Overhead and foot wells are all polar. Pretty sure your dealer isn't being honest with you.

Silly question, but the intensity is turned all the way up ? I have my lighting set to dim on the headliner elements, but bright on the doors.....
As others said, your dealer might not be being entirely straight up....

My 2015 works just fine w/ ruby-polar

I just picked up my 2016 S8 (traded in my 2014 S8) and the ruby/polar lighting does not work any better than on my 2014. You cannot even see the ruby color anywhere, not even on the doors, and I have it at maximum brightness.

That is very odd. It's not as bright as the polar, but it's still easy to see at night.
