S8 accelerator pedal sensor swap with R8 pedal
Unending appreciation to anyone who can help with this!
I want to buy a new S8. Love everything about it...except the accelerator pedal which is mounted up under the dash just like my wife's minivan. Porsche, BMW and the R8 all have the pedal "correctly" mounted on the floor and that is where I want it.
So, does anyone know if I can swap out the S8 pedal for an R8 pedal. It is drive-by-wire so physically it should work. But what no one can tell me (at the last 5 tuner shops I called) is if the computer control is the same for both so that the pedal travel/input for the R8 pedal would be read by S8 ECU correctly so that is works right. Before I drill holes and buy a pedal I thought I would ask.
Thanks for any advice.

I'd be less worried about the computer and more worried about the output the R8 pedal gave compared to the S8.
There is a procedure to calibrate the pedal and kickdown switch.
Without pulling wiring diagrams and parts numbers, I'm not sure if the electrical connectors are even the same but doubt it.
Seems like a lot of work for very little gain to me.
