S8 Turbos on A8 4.0T, will it fit/work?

I checked, and for the 2013 model year, the transmission has the same part number for both the A8 and S8. It is identical.

Id also be concerned about the bottom end of the motor. Are the connecting rods and crankshaft able to hold up to the extra squeeze long term? Do the heads and exhaust flow enough air to take advantage of the extra potential boost generated by the S8 turbos?

then you think of what else the s8 has, less restrictive exhaust, etc.

S8/RS7 lower end is beefier in main bearing journal size. Covered in the 4.0T SSP in more detail. Some incremental cooling IIRC too, plus the bigger turbos where the post started.
In practice, you just don't hear much of anything about engine block/lower end issues on any of the 4.2/4.0T fitments. At least I haven't, even over 10+ years. Rarely in chain drives or turbos, but again not like RS4 type era for chain drive or any early turbo stuff from 2.7T type era.

There does not seem to be software that will make this work at this time. So I'm scrapping the idea. I don't have time to test out a new setup and deal with working out the kinks.

I’m trying to get my ‘17 A8 to 200mph, stuck at 188.8 with APR Stage I. Every little bit helps.
Trying to also work RS7 turbos and APR downpipes with a custom tune, since APR still doesn’t have Stage II (down pipes only) let alone Stage 3. S6 is getting 634hp on 93 with RS7 turbos, slightly different motor but I want that! Looks like the hardware fits but the software is the issue. S8 OEM cooking is also recommended.
I’m glad I’m not the only want who wants a luxury limo that has a an excessively powerful motor.

Absolutely love my stage 3 S6...
I will be selling the turbos though - I'm not sure if they fit or not - if they do, I'm happy to sell them to you

Silly rabbit motorsports can do a simple CHRA upgrade to RS7 turbo equivalent for S6/S7/A8, or you know just go bonkers with their massive turbo upgrade. I just ordered the CHRA upgrade (also APR downpipes, SRM intercooler and twin intake setup all the way to the turbos).
Should see similar results to APR stage III upgrade for S6 (634hp on 93AKI). I’ll keep you posted.
