I took my A8L 4.2 to drag strip last night, just because. I was surprised to find it didn't launch well at the track. Slow to respond to throttle input and then it doesn't feel like the power really comes in until around 25mph. 14.5 @98.7mph was what it managed in dynamic mode with traction control off. Anyone else done this?

You were surprised that it's hard to launch a 4500lb (maybe a lot more, that doesn't include any options or you) AWD car with an automatic transmission?

That seems a little slow, but given the temp & humidity in the area lately, combined with the age of the car, that might be about right. I can't imagine it would run better than a few ticks faster under more ideal conditions.

EDIT: C&D's long-term test 2012 A8L ran 13.9@102 after 40K miles. Performance dropped significantly with age, so you may have some maintenance to do...

Audi just did the 55,000 mile maintenance. It feels like it launches harder on the street, is all, with a bit more snap off the line and more aggressive through first. It was pretty humid, though.
