Transmission Shudder
2014 3.0T
I purchased the car used year ago with about 35,000 miles on it. It has always had, for lack of a better term, a slight shudder in the transmission when you let off the throttle at 35-45 mph and coast.
There's a mild vibration/shudder that happens while coasting that seems out of character for the car. It's easily reproduced and has been doing it the entire time of my one year of ownership. Hasn't gotten worse over time but I seem to be fixated on it lately.
Can anyone else confirm a similar shudder?
Thanks

Apply the brakes or add some steering wheel input to perhaps load the front suspension to see it that affects it. During decel the TC should be locked with only a few RPM slip during downshifts if at all. Also manually shift via the tip tronic to see if it can be isolated to one gear position. As all the gear are always in mesh, could then be perhaps isolated to one of the clutches or brakes in the 8HP

The 4.0t cars have a tsb for vibration. Basically they reprogram the motor mounts and when that doesn't fix it they replace the down pipes. Shift manually and see if you can isolate the vibration to a certain RPM. The 4.0t was around 1000rpm and then again at 3000rpm. It was felt the most when accelerating briskly.
If it's under warranty take it in am make them fix it. There shouldn't be a vibration..

Understood, but I don't think the 3.0T motor has the programmable mounts, only the 4.0 engine (and now the 6.0 W12 engine) has them due to its variable cylinder on demand capability. Other than that, not aware of any exhaust down pipe issue with the 3.0 engine, but there's always a first.
