Good morning, illustrious members of this group. I have a relatively brand new (9,000 miles) Audi A8. My question is, I'd like, when I put it in "Park," for all doors to unlock. Time and time again I park, get out to go to the back seat to retrieve something, and find it still locked. I then have to go back to the front door to unlock it. When I had the 5,000 mile service done, I asked the dealer if he could do it. He said it was not possible. I somehow don't believe it. It could be done on my Honda Ridgeline. Any ideas, anyone, and thanks.
PS I was contacted by a rep from Audi when I filled in my "New Owner" survey. I mentioned it to him. He couldn't do it either.

Is not locking the car doors when you drive off an option?????

There is a setting in MMI....I forget what setting I have it set to, but all my doors lock when car is in gear and exceeds 9mph---And all doors and trunk are unlocked when car is in park and driver's door is opened.

Setting is in MMI, all mine unlock.

+1 its in the MMI option. Go to Car, car systems,vehicle settings, and then you should see the seating menu as the first option. It will have driver and passenger separate.

My BMW had the exact same issue. What a pain in the ***. The thing that kills me about the Audi as I open the back seat door, put my backpack that includes the key in the backseat, shut the door, and then can't open the front door. That's moronic. I'm sure there's a setting, I need to figure it out.

I think you can set it to unlock all doors at once.

Not wishing to beat a dying dog, but the settings in MMI are:
"Car," "systems," "vehicle settings," then go to the big button and click "Central Locking" the press the button and select "all."


I made notes in my IPhone. Hope I have reproduced it here understandably.
