I recently sold my usb cable and upgraded to the wireless Hex-Net adapter. It's worth every penny. Once you configure it to connect to your wireless network you can access it from any device simply by typing in the IP address in a web browser. Or you can access it from any PC with the VCDS program after you tell VCDS to look for it under options. If you have several wireless AP's you can program it for up to 6 of them and set up in what order it should look for them. it all has an AP mode in which you can connect directly to it. I was able to plug it into my A6 and then go in the house and play with it on my desktop computer from the comfort of my living room. It also worked flawlessly with my smartphone and the laptop I keep in the garage. For those without a dipstick but still wanting to do your own oil change you can call up a the oil fill level on your smartphone and watch the level as you fill the car. I still recommend a dipstick but it will be handy. As long as you have internet access you still have all the label files when using the web interface as well. And once it has the label files they stay on the device and you don't need internet access in the future.
