Washing your car
I just got done getting the car all cleaned up after a couple of days rain. I like to wash it myself by hand whenever I can(I can't do it once it starts to get too cold.) I start with cleaning the wheels, including inside the rims, wash the exterior, underhood, trunk, then interior. I do wonder how many others here do all this. How do you guys do it?

I clean the interior first so that the carpet, mats or any seat conditioning has some time to dry. Also the jambs so that when done I'm only dealing with water in the jambs instead of the usual dirt and grime. Damn beautiful car there Jack!

Yup, hand wash guy all the way, even in winter (as long as ice doesn't form on car's sheet metal that is).
Start with wheels, then on to body (top on down method), then complete dry... follow up with Sprayway on all glass, then apply tire dressing, then wipe and vacuum interior (leather cleaner applied quarterly, or as needed). After all is completely dry with no further water drips from trunk and mirrors, apply detail spray. That's my routine. Pics are of the current 2015 and previous 2011 D4's.

Looks sharp, derf. I would ignore the chill of winter if only my hose didn't freeze solid. Last March, I had to run the water for 20 minutes to melt enough to have good water pressure. Filling up the buckets inside with warm water help when it's cold, but once the hose freezes, I'm done for the season. Although I could just put the hose in the garage, it usually is above freezing in there from residual heat coming from the house. New plan!

I used Meguiar's products, mostly. Chemical Bros for the quick wax, smells like strawberry. Clay barred it a couple months ago, it helped to bring some depth back. Lexol for the leather, proper clean and conditioning once in a while, the one step the rest of the time.

Starting to really hate that derf guy. his car is sooooooo nice. wonder if I can put his LEDs in my 2013. bastard!
I do like to wash my own car. I like the Adams interior spray cleaner, good for leather and trim. I do worry about the suede on the doors though, I feel like something bad is going to happen, like my kids sticking gum to it.
I too do the wheels first then the rest of the car. I don't clay it, too lazy for clay and waxing. I try, unsuccessfully usually, to have my cars detailed professionally twice a year.
