Weird noise in car, like a buzzing/rattle...
I know, pretty darn vague description. It's nothing I put in the car - like a carseat or bottle etc. And it's clearly NOT the speakers. Sometimes it happens as I accelerate, sometimes it's just there. And it's annoying as hell! Any thoughts or is this again, too vague...

Too vague. Start by turning things off that might be involved--radio volume mute, HVAC, seat ventilation, etc. If a mechanical rattle, look in all the compartments, cup holders, etc. for anything loose. After that, usual common sense treasure hunt.

Do you think it is coming from the front? Back? Left side? Right?
Sometimes for a hard to find rattle I'll have someone else drive the car while I listen and by using my hand to press down on certain interior parts I can find loose panels, etc.
I agree with MP4.2. I'd start by checking the various storage compartments for loose items. Empty the glove box, center armrest box, door armrest box, lower door pockets, sunglasses holder, both rear armrest compartments, etc.

If I recall, from time to time my passenger seatbelt would vibrate against the stop on the belt. Also, the headrest for the passenger seat would also make noise from time to time. Without a more specific description, it's hard to point out things to look at.

Try pushing up on the glovebox door when the noise happens. If it is that area? Mine rattles quite badly, I have to jam a cloth in between the door and dash as there's something loose. I guess it's something to do with all the different materials in the dash.
I'm going to try adding some washers/shims to the 3 bolts that go upwards in to the dash (you can get to them when the glovebox is open)

Rotate the dial under your right thump up a few notches :-)
In all seriousness, have a friend ride in the back seat and see if you can't at least find where (what area) it's coming from.

I got the buzzing yesterday, but tracked down to radar detector. Passport 9500. Turned off & on and it went away. It happened when it received two bands at once.

wish it was my radar. it generally happens when I'm accelerating or letting off the gas. well, happens more often than that too...i'll have to take everything out of the car and then start checking. Thanks all!
