Default What do you think of tinted tail lights?

I have a silver A8 3.0 Tdi SWB.
I'm thinking of tinting the tail lights.
Not black, just a little darker than standard.
What dou you guys think?
Any one who have done this and have pics?

Tia

I'm sure there are outfits in the US that can tint your lights, but these guys are in the UK and are an example of what can be done!

Never understood the idea of tinting headlights.....

We spend big bucks to increase the light output and then someone puts tint over it.

Not really sure about taillights but I think it's nowhere as big a deal.

In the end it's your car and if you like the look of it then by all means go for it.

You have to get it right or it just looks like aftermarket crap. The D4 optic pics are a good example of getting it right. If you ever see a Golf R set of factory ones relative to standard Golf, probably another example of about the limits of doing it right. Also probably works better (or worse) depending on paint color. Tesla S's also use a subtle slight darker look, at least with many of the paints. Hella--the usual purveyor of a lot of OE lighting for German marques like these--used to sell factory fit aftermarket ones, but I think long since left the market.

I'm not a fan of tinting tail lights. Some have made it hard to see them at night or hard to see brake lights in the day. If you like what is available from the factory, that probably won't have a big impact on visibility of lights but any more than that could start to be a safety concern.

Thanks for inputs.
I think i will try do get a tint no darker than that black optic that was shown.
I friend of mine will help me get it right.
His company, wrapzone.net, wraps most Gumball cars coming out of northern europe and also swedish free skier Jon Olsson's Lambos and RS6.
