Will Chrysler shifter recall spread to the A8?

As a new owner of a 2013 S8, the shifter is "new" to me as to its actions. i've found it to be the hardest to find reverse more than park, in my experience so far...

Mine always goes right into park from drive with a firm forward motion of the lever and right into drive from park with a firm rearward motion of the lever. I do have to occasionally "hunt" for reverse when going from park or drive.

Huh. That must be for the start/stop feature, to prevent you from forgetting the car is still on when the motor cuts out. Have you tried turning off the start/stop before getting out of the car?

Frybear, that is weird, because I know you have a 2013 A8 which I do as well but mine keeps running when I open up my door. I often keep the car running with the AC on when I have to quickly run into the house for something (or pick up my pre-ordered Starbucks) and I love that it keeps running. I wonder why some keep running and others shut off...?

I believe the A8 has the same type of shifter as found in the Chrysler products. In my short ownership, I have twice not shifted from Drive to Park. It is a bit un-nerving to have the car start rolling back after parking because the transmission did not go into Park.
Any rumors that Audi will recall as well?
