Winter Tires? None Available
I was thinking of getting winter tires mounted on my original rims (255/45 R19 104H) and then picking up a set of sexy rims and performance tires for the summer. Tried an AW sponsor, Tire Rack, out of stock, then tried all the top google results, no luck. Any suggestions?

You're likely too late...
From what I have seen in prior years, they come into stock by Aug/Sept. and are often sold out by now in common sizes. In the U.S., TireRack seems to have a quasi lock on a lot of the on line inventory/brands. They seem to manage supply and ordering much more toward selling out stock by mid season, rather than holding too much to either carry over or later offer at a deep sale price.

Great reply. Thanks. Freaky, I am unable to buy snow tires. I never would have thought. My master plan of OEM rims with snow tires and sexy rims with summer tires gets derailed.

Same happened last year. If you don't get started early, you basically lose out.
I'd look in the Classifieds section on this forum and see if you can find something.
Plan B: check with a local tire store and look for a set of wheels, used or new.

Hurrah Tire Rack. For yucks decided to use chat feature on tire rack. They found me some Yoko's for a great price. Will be delivered to my local garage tomorrow or sat. Great company, great sponsor.

You are not completely out of luck. You can get the Bridgestone Lm-32 or the Michelin XICE XI3 in size 245/45R19. I have the XICE XI3 on forgestar f14 rims right now. Tirerack says the tires fit perfectly fine with car and speedo error is only 1%.
