Xenon lights versus LED lights
Can any of you shed some light (pun intended) on the difference between the two?
What are the benefits of the LED's over the Xenon's?
Are they brighter?
Is the light pattern better?
Are they worth the money?
Can you simple buy a set of LED lights off of eBay and make a swap?
Thanks in advanced for the info?

I am no expert but I can comment on some things.
LED's are instant on.
Although xenon's are also low amperage draw, LED's are even less.
There are LED bulbs that you can use instead of the incandescent moieties, however, I'm sure A/S8's have all come with xenon's until now?
I find xenon's (from my other cars) to be plenty bright.

My Matrix LED (S8) are truly great, especially for long distance light and brightness. Whenever I drive my old Q7 with Xenon, I feel like I've forgot to turn the headlights on.
I'm not sure about aftermarket though, I seriously doubt they are going to be as good as the stock ones.
However, I can't say the light pattern is better than the Xenon. When I'm driving on country roads with lots of tight turns, I can see the separation of the diodes, when I light up a close rock or something. I'm not sure I'm explaining it correctly, English is not my native language.
I'm trying to say that if you stop 10 meters in front of a, let's say a wall, you will see the uneven distribution of light, projected on the wall. Normal daily driving that you have just road ahead (city or highway), with no rocks or whatever right in front of you, the pattern is perfectly good.
