I am looking to buy a Audi 100 quattro but sadly it has a automatic transmission. So I was wondering if the quattros even came with manual transmissions to begin with because my research has brought up nothing and if not what would be the most likely candidate/ easiest to obtain manual transmission for a swap.

I also had the thought of converting it to diesle but have no clue as to where to start. All the TDI's around here are fwd so if anyone has a suggestion i would love to hear it.

I don't think any C4 Quattro 5 speed manual transmission cars were imported to the USA..pretty sure they were all automatics.

Over in Germany..they got a lot of manual transmission C4s Quatrros.

Might be too big an effort to change..the automatics work well enough..

Well its not always about if its worth it or not sometimes it just about can you?. Non the less would you know if there is a diesle engine that would work with the quattro system thats stock?

Yes, Audi sold the diesel engines in the A6 C4 quattro in Europe. So doing a swap is possible. You will need the engine, matching quattro transmission, motor mounts, exhaust and the wiring harness(s) with the diesel ECU.

in 1995, audi offered the C4 A6 sedan with 5 speed manual
