Default Audio upgrade

Hi

What have your experience with replacing the speakers in the front of a 1994-1997 A6 sedan. I think mine needs an upgrade, but the speakers seem a little bit small(about 4,5") and can't find any decent replacement online.

Do you know if any other sizes can fit(link/pictures) or i just have to live with the factory speakers.

Best Regards

Jonathan..I don't know if the speakers in your A6 are the "active" or regular. The "active speakers have a built in amplifier. I just live with mine..I'm not an audiophile.

I am exactly where Rusty is on this- only chiming in because I have been reading alot this morning about audio issues/replacements on this forum and on quattroworld. From what I understand, if you have the Bose system, it can be tricky with the amplified speakers to get everything to work correctly with aftermarket stuff. I read several posts where guys just replaced everything cause it was the best way to get things to work. I'm certainly no expert and no audiophile. Just saying you may want to read up on the subject before doing anything.
