I really need some help. I haven't done any researching on the subject yet but here's what I have:
On the passanger side of the vechicle I have some dripping coming from the tranny onto the exhaust pipe that runs from the manifold to the cat. I noticed a seem recently but haven't had a chance to look but tonight the smell is quite strong. It looks as if the leak is on the part right where the inner CV joing connects to. Is there seals or what am I in for?
Please help.
Forgot to add.....FWD only automatic trans.

Tranny leak, just guessing but
there is a problem with the quattros leaking from the rear tranny seal, I also see it called the prop seal or quattro seal. There is a procedure I found in the V8 forum some time ago. Usually it just drips a small amount on the R cat and does not drip on the ground. It can be serious and needs attention. I had mine done, cost $200ish, but the part is about $18. Check and follow the links below.

https://forums.audiworld.com/a6100/msgs/9254.phtml</a

had both problems on my 97A6QA
Transmission seal leak dripped on to cat/exhaust causing burning smell. Fixed under warranty at about 35K miles.
Leaking rear pinion seal (where prop shaft enters rear differential housing)fixed out of warranty for about $400.
