What if my 95 a6 has dex/mercon.... and I want to change trans fluid
Ive been reading everything I can on these cars since I bought mine on Monday and it seems that mid 95 Audi switched from dex/mer... to Pentosin ATF . I want to change engine, trans, and diff but Im worried about the trans. If my trans has dex mercon in it do I have to use it if Im doing a filter change or can I use the perferable Pentosin and let them mix? thanks guys

Most of us would do a "cyclical" Flush....
Get your self 9 qt of pentosin 11s at www.worldimpex.com....
Flush what's on the pan (about 3qts but double check that because I don't remember that for sure)
Drive it 1000 miles or so... Do it again... Drive it another 1000 or so... and do it a third time and enjoy!
You may want to check the filter as well... since you are there but I would leave the filter change for the third and definitive flush...
Good luck!

isnt 11s a power steering fluid? Ive always heard not to mix mineral and synthetic oil, even if only for a short time, have I heard wrong? thanks

Re: Yes that is correct. You want G 052 162 A2 Pentosin ATF fluid.
Then the full synthetic and dex/mercon mixing for awhile wont harm anything? Just want to be 110% sure :-)

No, I agree with what lleiro said,
just use the G 052 162 A2 Pentosin ATF fluid, not the 11S for the flush. I could not say for sure if bad things would happen mixing the dex/mercon with the synthetic, just that it is better to play it safe by flushing it out.
But I will say this: in my own experience, when I was doing my filter/fluid change, the fluid was reddish - indicating it was the dex/mercon type (not to mention that dex smell). My car is supposed to have the Pentosin synthetic (as per the tranny code). Maybe the PO mixed the two, who knows? But when I saw that, I ran out to the store and bought some Mercon V synthetic and the tranny is fine.
For the record, I was not aware of the flush idea until a couple of months ago, but it makes sense.

I agree with lleiro but...
...I'd drop the pan and clean out the bottom and replace the trans filter on the first service. It will take about 2.7 liters. See the writeup in the FAQ.
When I did mine, it was fairly dirty in the bottom of the pan and the magnets in there were fuzzy with metal. I think it's a good idea to clean the pan with brake cleaner and get all the fuzzies off the magnets before circulating fresh fluid.
