Cooling fan problem
My radiator broke and also aux heater so i changed those and started to check for "why" and the cooling fans doesnt start, if i put on the AC the fans starts and run on low speed, plugged in computer and i get error from sensor g110 open or short to ground, then replaced this sensor but still get error. If i check under one the readings from the climate control unit ot says that the engine coolant is -17 degrees C, is there any known placed where the wires can be damaged? Im gonna change the other coolant sensor also but what i can tell that one is only for the engine control.
The car is a Audi A6 2.8 quattro avant 1995

The sensor behind the passenger side cylinder head on the coolant pipe is for the gauge. I believe some readings from it are also used for some engine control and trans control devices and definitely for after-run functions for turbos. When it fails it shorts to ground. The multifunction switch at the bottom of the rad just turns on the fans at its varying speeds. If your fan does not come on when it should, eliminate the switch by jumping across the terminals on the connector. I believe there is another sensor for the ecm somewhere on the engine. There is much more info for you at Quattroworld forums: quattroworld.com Forums: C4 100/A6 (1992 - 1997)

Yeah, ive exchanged the 3 pin coolant sensor on the passenger side with a new one, tho i still got error on VCDS about G110 sensor beeing open or short to ground for some reason.
There is also a coolant sensor on the driver side on the pipe, that one is for the Engine control.
I tried to jump the terminals on the bottom of the radiator and it works on both.
Pulled the bottom sensor out and just made a quick test, heated it up a bit and it seemed to work as it should using a multimeter to check.
Havent used the car that much but after i changed the G110 sensor the gauge doesnt move much anymore, just a bit sometimes, i get heat from the ventilation, but im gonna check the thermostat and replace it to be sure.
With the old sensor the gauge went up to 90 pretty quick i believe so guess it can be a combination of parts messing with me :-(
