Unable to remove cam cap for replacement. Austinado16...
How did you punch the cap out when you did yours? I don't have a pin punch short enough to fit between the cam bearings. I tried an allen wrench, L type but it's too springy. Any ideas?

You simply undo the rear bearing cap on the cam. The cap will fall right out.
Undo the 2 8mm nuts, lift the bearing cap out, the end plug will be loose and/or fall out.
Wipe the area where the bearing cap seals, nice and clean, give it a thin coat with Permatex Aviation Form-A-Gasket and you'll be ready to reassemble.
Prior to putting the cam bearing cap back on, give the inside of the bearing cap a wipe with some engine oil so the cam doesn't run dry right there as it first fires up after the repair.
Don't over-tighten the bearing cap, as you don't want to distort it and screw up the cam bearing journal.
Email me directly if you need more help.

Thanks a lot...
Makes sense now. I'll get to it next weekend.
Also have to attend to a broken valve cover bolt. Previous "mechanic" crossthreaded 2 of the top cover bolts. Maybe an easy-out will work. Don't know though. Felt really tight when it snapped. May have to drill and helicoil.
