Hey there, new Audi World user here.
I've been lurking this site for a couple years on and off without owning an Audi. During that time, the questions that I've had for different models and years have been answered quite easily. The combined knowledge on this site is just as valuable as the Bentley manual, from what I've heard...
After getting starry eyed on newer models that I can't afford, I settled on a 1997 A6 Quattro with the 2.8L 12 valve V6. The price was right and the mileage on a rebuilt motor wasn't bad.
That being said, within one hundred miles, the EGR threw a code; confirmed it with Autozone. I've been studying the EGR service posts and feel confident about the service involved. Ordered the gaskets ( p/n from a post here) today as well as the 22mm crowfoot.
I guess I'm grateful for all of you that have already figured this stuff out for all the new owners of these fine machines. Thanks you for your experience, and I hope to add some of my own soon!
