that is odd
product is stamped Germany yet the box is China.
The single parts were made in Germany and then assembled in China or this is a forgery.
Most disclosure labels would then say (made in Germany, assembled in China).
Things like this make me leery, and its somewhat known a good portion of Meyle stuff is China sourced but not "upper quality" companies.

Here's the correspondence I had with the Febi sales rep.

So why do my Febi VW cooling fans say "Made in China" when they're stamped "Germany"?

Hello David,
Thank you for your visit to the febi bilstein web site.
febi, like many other companies in today's world, has a variety of global sources for products, including China. As such, all febi products manufactured outside Germany are marked on the packaging with the country of origin. Also like other companies, febi is often confronted with counterfeit products. We mark our product febi Germany to maintain our identity as a German company, and to provide assurance to our customers that they have real febi products.

Thanks for your prompt response. However, that troubles me in SO many
ways. After several less than acceptable experiences with Chinese-made
Meyle brand parts sold as real "German" parts I now go to great lengths
to avoid similar experiences with other manufacturers. Had these 'Made
in China' Febi fans been going into a vehicle I was planning to keep
they'd have been sent back to my supplier in an instant. I'll now add
Febi to my list of manufacturers that I need to scrutinize more closely
when ordering parts from. I'm sure I don't need to tell you how this
will impact your brand image (and profits) in both the short term and
long term.

DB

Hmm. I think what the Febi rep said is...
...that the stamping on the part, "Febi Germany", just means that Febi is a German company. It does not mean that the part is made in Germany.
I agree. This is a troubling revelation. Hopefully, Febi maintains strict quality control over their parts made in other countries. We just can't rely on a brand name to indicate quality anymore.
I just bought a set of Febi lower front control arms. I searched long and hard and paid more for them over Meyle, Hamburg Technic, Karlyn, etc. Now I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they'll last.
