Default New to me 87 4000CS

Hi all. New guy here hoping to learn about these cars and contribute.

I had seen this 87' 4000 in the neighborhood and stopped one day to talk with the owner last fall. He expressed interest in selling and knocked on my door a couple of days ago and asked if I would by it.
it's a $500 car with 133,000 verified miles (odo works!) and records from new, 2 owner car.
I've been loving driving it but has a couple of issues..
one being it has a self imposed rev limit at 4,500 rpm. I added a can of seafoam to the gas and it did feel smother but issue still remains. I've read this is possibly a wrong fuel pump relay?
Mine is a K.A.E 3.300.230 can someone verify if this is the right one?

That's almost certainly a 4-cylinder relay. The correct KAE part number is 321906059F.

I had the same problem and yes, Rog is right on; I had the exact same problem. As it turned out, I had been sold the fuel pump relay for a 4cyl car. Swapped in the correct relay and everything was wonderful again. Great score on your car BTW. Enjoy!

Thanks,
I had a mint 84' 4000Q back in 1990. I have been on again off again looking for another and this one just showed up.
