Bent rims
I got some new tires for my CGT and the tire place said one of my rims was badly bent. I took it home and holy crap! I put a dial gauge on it, and the bent part is on the inside lip, 6"-8" long, and .25" of deflection. Can the 16 spoke CGT rims be repaired? I've attached a picture of my style of rims. There's a place in town that fixes rims for around $100 per rim, but I don't want to spend the money only to discover that these rims really aren't repairable.

Virtually any rim can be straightened so long as it's a) not cracked and b) not completely warped/damaged. I've had several different style rims straightened successfully over the years. $100 is about right and should include a standard rebalancing.

I assumed that they could be repaired, but I wasn't sure since these are aluminum alloy rims. Aluminum doesn't like to be moved back and forth too much. I'm just worried about a crack or something in the rim that isn't visible but compromises the strength of the wheel. I don't see any cracks, so I guess I'll take it down there and see what they say.

I think I may go the route of buying a used one. There's a single one on eBay right now for $60, but I've already used up my "allowance" on snow tires. Maybe by summer I'll find one somewhere. Thanks for the replies!
