Bet my Monday was kooler than yours. I couldn't wait any longer. Woke up today and said this is it. It's happening. Now.
I already spent a couple evenings laying out the cuts. So I got out the grinders.
First the floor and side panels
Then the roof panel. Targa top anyone?
Then the frame and rocker panel. I decided to keep the jack point so I had to puzzle piece it all together.
And here it is ratchet strapped together.
Let the welding begin!
That's enough for 1 day I guess. Gotta work tomorrow so won't get much done. I'm going to leave the GT roof for now so I will be welding it back together next.

Wow, I'm blown away by how well you got that cut apart and stuck back together. It certainly IS happening.
And you're right, all I did today was struggle with a Mercedes W123 front strut. Ended up having to drill the damn thing apart to get it out and didn't even have time to get a new one in (tomorrow!). That's the kind of thing not remotely worth documenting in pictures.

Thanks! But it's just cutting and welding.
I am on the hunt for a 20vt. Looks like I will have to buy an entire car to get one. I have a few leads. Still have a ways to go till I need it tho.
Got both quarters welded and ground down. Along with quarter and roof supports. Zippin up the rockers and starting the roof line today.
Stay tuned.

Just Great!!
It's so great to see you doing this. It makes me rethink parting out my old 4kq. Hmmm...I wonder if my old Coupe GT is still at the junkyard........
