Water Deflector Restoration
When I purchased my Audi 4000, the Water Deflector (Part #811819099A) was in bad shape. I realized the importance of this part when I go caught in a torrential downpour.
My daughter was sitting in the passenger seat and noticed water dripping into the passenger cabin. In the space of about thirty minutes, the front and rear passenger area was flooded with water.
It turns out that this part is very flimsy and nearly impossible to find new at any price.
Here is how I fixed it for about $15:
Here is the trashed water deflector. It is in bad shape and extremely fragile.
Tools required: Rustoleum Leak Seal spray rubber, Gorilla tape, mineral spirits.
First step was to tape up all of the cracks and clean up everything with mineral spirits. The tape was applied to the bottom of the water deflector. I used small pieces of tape that conformed to the contours of the deflector
I applied at least two coats of Leak Seal on the front and back. The first coat was not enough to cover up the cracks. The second coat bonded to the first coat and filled in the cracks. A few areas need several more coats.
The result is a better than new water deflector. The part is no longer fragile and prone to cracking; and my passenger area is water free!

trshop in Germany got some brand new deflectors!

Bought one a couple of weeks ago.
Fits perfectly and the shipping didn't take that long. I'm from Sweden though.
They also got one without the faults from the casting. Costs a bit more.

I'm pretty sure Audi Tradition doesn't ship to the US, so that's why we have to come up with fixes like this here.
I think the repair job looks great. I've always wanted to try my hand at making an aluminum one, but it's a pretty low priority. Lots of cars, never enough time before winter comes again...

That is correct. Audi Tradition will not ship to the US. My "fix" took about 30 minutes, cost less than $20 and seems sturdier than the original, so all-in-all, I think it turned out better than buying a replacement.
Nosliwe, your Audi kicks "A" is worthy of the new improved water deflector.
