Default WHAT NOW!?!

Thanks to the members of the board my 87 4000s is stopping as it should again. I still haven't figured out the rear end noise, but the car developed a new symptom that has it parked until I can get to the parts store. I work about 6 blocks from my house which worked in my favor today. I drove the Audi to work and a coworker pointed out the trail of what appeared to be oil behind my car. I checked the oil level and it was fine, so I drove it carefully back home. There is now a trail of oil from my parking spot to work and back home again. Whatever is leaking got worse on the way home as there is more fluid showing on the road from the return trip than there was on the way in. It appears to be about coming from the right side of the engine as you face the car. I think (and hope) it may be a short length of hose that appears to have been chaffed by a hose clamp. I have no pics at the moment, but the hose looks like it connects above the oil filter. Here's hoping it's a simple repair and I'm back on the road quickly. My Land Cruiser is murder on my fuel budget.

Sounds like maybe the crankcase vent? Those can definitely make a mess. Shouldn't be hard to fix.

I'll look into that, thanks.
