Yes, the Special Build CGT came with rear discs (1987.5 model year, also came with a 2.3L NG engine rather than the KX). I don't know about over there, but they're extremely hard to find as a parts car. Other options would be a FWD B3, such as a 80, 90, or Cabriolet. That's if you want to stay with the correct 4x108 for the car. Like I mentioned, I've had an extremely difficult time finding a set, so I can only wish you luck in that regard.
It just sounds like you inherited a headache from someone. I hate working on drum brakes more than just about anything, but I would never mix lug patterns between the front and rear. That's just crazy. The least they could have done is save the old ones in case they ever sold it.
If you want to replace those exact hubs on the rear, just tell them you have about a 1988 Golf 16v GTI. But then I would definitely get 4x100 hubs for the front. Like I said, you can straight up have mine, as I'm going the other way, from 4x100 to 4x108. I just need one more 4x108 front hub.

I guess I misunderstood. I thought you meant that the front had a different lug spacing than the rear...
So what exactly is the problem, other than the lug threads being damaged? Are you saying you want to fit 4x100 wheels to the car?
