Audi 200 Quattro Leaking Power Steering Hose
Hello,
The high pressure power steering hose on my 89 200 10V quattro recently started leaking and I need some advice on what to do. The leak is extremely small but somehow all the fluid is gone from the reservoir. My question is, has anybody replaced this hose? If so can somehow who's not a mechanic do it with just regular tools without spending a ridiculous amount of money? Thanks a

Search the archives, should be a How to guide.
Not hard, just a few tricks to learn and a decent tool box.
Are you sure its just the hose and not the pump or rack ?

You can remove the banjo bolt attaching the hose end to the rack with enough extension bars and a ratchet to reach across behind the engine from the passenger side. Check this report: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/sho...se+replacement

Doesn't everybody send their hoses to Spokane House of Hose (800-541-6351) for a rebuild? I just sent my power steering pressure hose to them by UPS. I talked to Jody in the shop on the phone and he had me send him a pic of the hose and he said he could rebuild it and put the original noise filter back in too. He did say some Audi hoses aren't rebuildable, and to send him a pic first, but he does them all the time.
I bought a hose for my V8 quattro new from Parts Geek for $225 just to get me by until my original hose gets rebuilt. The Parts Geek hose works but is routed weird and has the wrong bends in it.
